LCRI participates in the Annual Asylum Law International Moot Court Competition, organized by LARC, at which its achievements in the field of refugee law education receive international recognition.
During the academic year 2002/2003 a LCRI team took part in the Third Annual Asylum Law International Moot Court Competition, carried out in Brno and Prague, the Czech Republic. The Bulgarian team qualified first after the written round and the preliminary oral pleadings of the competition, and participated in the semifinals. Valeria Ilareva from LCRI was awarded the special prize of the Best Oralist of the competition.

The tradition of successful international representation of LCRI was continued in the spring of 2004 when two teams from the Bulgarian clinic took part in the Fourth Annual Asylum Law International Moot Court Competition, carried out in Ljubliana, Slovenia.
Team members: Zornica Zafirova and Simona Staikova (coach – Prof. Blagoy Vidin); Zhivka Georgieva and Maria Dimitrova (coach – Valeria Ilareva).
In 2005 in Budapest, Hungary, both participating Bulgarian teams qualified for the semifinals of the competition. One of the teams played in the final and won the second place of the competition. The special prize of the Best Oralist of the competition was awarded to the Bulgarian clinician Valentina Stoeva.

In 2006 in Budapest, Hungary, the Bulgarian team won the first place at the competition.
