Participation in forums
LCRI members are invited and take part in national and international forums dedicated to refugee and migration law and clinical education – round tables, organized by UNHCR in Sofia, the conference “Legal aid 2000” in December 2000 in Budapest, the seminar of the students from the refugee law clinics in August 2001 in Budapest, the seminar of the professors from the refugee law clinics in November 2001 in Budapest, the seminar of the managers from the refugee law clinics in April 2002 in Budapest, the conference on the EU Asylum Acquis in July 2002 in Bratislava, the international educational course (ELENA – European Network on Asylum) of the European Council on Refugees and Exiles (ECRE) in January 2003 in Denmark, the conference on cultural and gender issues in refugee law in May 2003 in Budapest.; the Roundtable organized by SAR on the cooperation between the institutions with regard to the protection of unaccompanied minors seeking asylum in July 2005; the Lections on EU asylum policy and the Qualification directive held by magistrates from Germany, UK, Italy and Belgium in Sofia on 15 and 16 September 2005; the Refugee Law Reader Seminar in Budapest on 23 March 2006 and others.
In 2004 the coordinator of LCRI was invited to share the legal clinic’s experience with colleagues from different countries who were making efforts to establish social clinics. Valeria Ilareva made a presentation on the LCRI’s experience in Bulgaria as to the sustainability and the organizational development of the Clinic.
In October 2005, in Bourgas, LCRI shared its experience in a seminar that gathered together representatives from all legal clinics in Bulgaria. The seminar was organized by ABA CEELI and the Open Society Institute and was dedicated on the legal clinic education.
